NEWSFLASH: From 1 November until 22 December fishing is from 9am until 4pm. Permit options for trout fishing are as follows:

Catch and release fly only £19 (keep one fish).

An eight fish permit will be at the reduced rate of £21.

Two rod permit £25 for eight fish.

Couples permit £30 for twelve fish.

Catch of the Week

Mr. E Taylor tore into the competition and left everyone standing with his condition defying four fish haul in some shocking conditions as the wintery wet weather dominated throughout the week. Mr. Taylor walked away with the catch and individual fish of the week; a well conditioned 2lb 10oz.

Memorable moment of the week:

Mr. K Dodd fished some tough autumnal conditions midweek but was well rewarded with a fine brace weighing 5lb 8oz within a short three hour session from the south shore bay.

Best area and flies:

North shore burn and point. Lure patterns (Dawson’s Olive and Cat’s Whisker) and Daddies.

Best areas & baits / lures

As above; float fished worm with yellow garlic Powerbait eggs.
