Catch of the Week

Regular bait angler Patrick Bell recorded a fine trio of well conditioned trout during a decent session Monday. Patrick recorded a total weight of 8lb and was left delighted with the quality of the late season stock. Patrick opted for his trusty ledger rig coupled with a well targeted loose fed trout pellet attack, which (in spite of the tricky conditions) proved to be a winning formula.

Memorable moment of the week:

It was brilliant to see our competitors brave the wintery weather and join in the fun for our end of season competition Sunday. Some 12 hardy entrants battled hard to weigh in 22 fine trout. It was Derek Hodgson who claimed the overall winner’s prize with his superb standout four fish catch, weighing an outstanding 10lb 6oz. It was another regular bait angler Rob Marshall who claimed the individual fish prize, beating off the rest of the field with his exceptional 3lb 9oz Fontburn reared beauty

Best area and flies:

Best areas & baits / lures

North/south shore bays and Dam Wall. Brightly coloured Powerbait cocktails worked well combined with ledger rigs, feeders and loose fed trout pellets.
