Catch of the week:

11 anglers attended one of our fishing tuition sessions, learning how the sport works and taking to the water in the afternoon. The group did exceptionally well with expert guidance, landing a lovely 21 fish between them, ranging from 2lb to just over 3lb. Everyone enjoyed their day, well done all!

Best area and flies:

Boundary Bay and the mole did very well at the start of the week with the west bank doing well toward the end. The weedy conditions at the west bank have made it a challenge for anglers but those who tackle for the occasion and persevered have had fantastic results. A Diawl Bach, Hare’s Ear and nymphs have done very well on either a floating or intermediate lines.

Best areas & baits / lures

Nymph, garlic and rainbow Powerbait have been fishing well. The fish are still picking up food from the bottom of the water, so baits fished deep or on the bottom of the water are offering best results. Worms have also done well fished on the bottom. Spinners have caught fish around the cages, Mole and west bank with orange, blue and silver doing well. West bank, all the way along to the Middlemead car park has done well from the bank and from boat. The Goldfish Bowl has been productive from the bank, along with the Mole.

Fishing with Waterside Parks is the perfect way to enjoy a great sport, whether you like fly fishing, bank fishing, coarse fishing or wild brown trout fishing.
