Catch of the week:

Mr. J Duckan had a day to remember whilst fishing the south shore near the overflow connecting with four quality fish, one being a fully finned 5lb brown trout which he returned to fight another day

Memorable moment of the week:

With Hawthorn flies continuing to appear on the water and exceptional hatches of other terrestrials hatching the fish are very fast to respond, they can be seen rising in almost all parts of the reservoir on the calmer days and the anglers who respond to the changing conditions are being rewarded with some fine sport

Best areas & baits / lures/ Flies

The north shore continues to be the most popular area, even with the fish well spread out. Most of the fish have been very high in the water, especially on calm days as the hatches continue and floating line tactics have dominated. The washing line method with a buoyant fly on the point accompanied by nymphs or wet flies on the droppers has been very effective and dry fly tactics have seen some great sport. Black or Bibio Hoppers and Sedgehogs have worked very well as have small Black Beatles and Black Spiders

Fishing with Waterside Parks is the perfect way to enjoy a great sport, whether you like fly fishing, bank fishing, coarse fishing or wild brown trout fishing.

With so many different locations to choose from, and styles of fishing, every experience will feel new and exciting.

The fishing we offer across our parks and reservoirs is aimed at all abilities.
