We wanted to update our visitors on two temporary changes currently affecting Hanningfield Waterside Park.
Our cafe is temporarily closed while we carry out essential building works. We’re working hard to complete this as quickly as possible and will let you know as soon as we’re ready to welcome you back.
There’s still plenty to enjoy during your visit:
We’re also looking at offering some elements of our menu in due course, so please keep an eye on our website or Facebook page @HanningfieldWSP for updates.
We’ve made the difficult decision to temporarily suspend all fishing activity at Hanningfield Reservoir. Prolonged hot, dry weather and a lack of rainfall have led to lower reservoir levels than usual, meaning large parts of the reservoir are currently inaccessible for fishing. The recent warm spell has also caused an algal bloom, reducing water visibility and making conditions extremely challenging for anglers.
We’re monitoring the situation closely. This is not affecting drinking water supplies for customers, but it does mean the fishing experience isn’t currently what we’d want it to be. We’ll continue to review conditions and keep you updated on when fishing can safely resume. Anyone with bookings in the coming days will be contacted directly.
We’re sorry for any inconvenience or disappointment these closures may cause. Thank you for your understanding and continued support — we look forward to welcoming you back soon.
