The perfect spot for letting the world pass you by

At Blackton you can enjoy the spectacular views from each side of the reservoir by trekking along the man-made walk. You also have the option of joining the Pennine Way and exploring Hannah’s Meadow. At the West end of the reservoir is a nature reserve, bringing lots of wildlife and birds which you can view from the bird hide, accessible best by parking at Balderhead Reservoir. From the dam wall, you can also view the dramatic water intake from the overflow funnel.
