We would like to make you aware of a short-term closure of Lockwood Beck in January, which is necessary to allow the safe clearance of the construction cabins and equipment.
As this will involve heavy machinery operating throughout the site’s car park, and due to the location of Lockwood Beck on a busy A road, we have taken the decision to close the site from January 4 to January 15 2021 to ensure this can be done safely.
We hope you understand that, while this will be a short-term disappointment to those who enjoy Lockwood Beck, it is necessary and will also help us ensure the site looks its best for those who visit in the months between now and the work that is due to take place in the spring.
We apologise for the inconvenience, but remind visitors to the area that Scaling Dam remains open to enjoy, only five miles to the east, along the A171. Winter pike and coarse fishing is still available at Scaling Dam and permits can be purchased using the book button on this website.
