We have had a fantastic time welcoming guests to Derwent Waterside Park this Easter holidays! From thrilling encounters with exotic creatures to relaxing nature walks and planting trees, there was something for everyone to enjoy. Let’s take a look back at the exciting activities that made this Easter amazing!
Crazy Creatures:
One of the highlights of the Easter festivities was the visits from Crazy Creatures North East, bringing with them a collection of fascinating animals. Guests had the opportunity to get up close and personal with snakes, bunnies, geckos, tarantulas, tortoises, chinchillas, and much more. It was a truly wild experience that left everyone in awe.
Fishing Competition:
For those with a love for the great outdoors, the fishing competition provided hours of entertainment and friendly competition. Anglers of all skill levels gathered by the water’s edge to cast their lines and reel in their catches. Congrats to all of the winners!
Earth Day Celebrations:
In keeping with our commitment to environmental stewardship, Derwent Waterside Park hosted an Earth Day celebration that was both educational and fun. Guests participated in activities such as making plaques, planting trees, and embarking on nature walks with the Wildlife Trust to appreciate the beauty of the Derwent Reservoir. It was a meaningful way to connect with nature and contribute to its preservation.
Movie Nights:
Our newly opened coffee shop at Derwent provided the perfect setting for cosy movie nights throughout the Easter holiday. Families gathered to enjoy a collection of family friendly films while munching on tasty snacks. It was a lovely way to unwind and enjoy our new coffee shop space.
Easter Egg Hunt:
No Easter celebration would be complete without an egg hunt. Children and adults alike scoured the grounds in search of the elusive golden egg, with the promise of a grand prize awaiting the lucky winner. An egg-ceptional event for all.
With half-term and the summer holidays just around the corner, there’s plenty more excitement in store for guests eager to join us for future activities. Make sure to keep an eye out for future on site activities by following our Facebook page!
