We’re looking forward to welcoming anglers back when fishing returns to our reservoir at Hanningfield Waterside Park on Saturday 23 May 2020.
Due to Covid-19, we have made some important changes to our rules and regulations in order to protect our anglers and our Ranger team.
We will re-open for bank fishing only along the main dam wall, which is from Middlemead car park to the inlet car park.
Permits are only available via our online booking system – www.bookwhen.com/hanningfield
Access to the dam wall will be via Middlemead and the inlet car parks.
In order for us to manage capacity and to adhere to social distancing, all anglers must use a platform provided.
Please note that there will be no fishing from any other location, including the fishing lodge at Gifford’s Lane, Hall Point, Middlemead Bay, Saltmarsh Point or the West Bank.
Our main site and tackle shop off Gifford’s Lane will remain closed, therefore we are unable to supply you with bait tackle, so please come prepared.
Our revised opening times will be between 8am and 6pm Monday to Sunday.
We will continue to monitor government guidance and will extend the fishing offer when it is safe and practical to do so.
Planning a safe visit:
Please be respectful of the local communities and strictly observe Government guidelines on social distancing wherever you are.
Please stick to designated footpaths and fishing areas and abide by social distancing guidelines, as well as all signage around the sites, to ensure a safe visit.
To help reduce the risk of infection transmission, please complete your catch returns and email your returns for each water to info@watersideparksuk.com
Please be aware that dogs, BBQs and alcohol are prohibited, and only anglers are allowed on the dam wall.
Free fishing is available for children, aged 8 to 16, on a parent/guardian permit, but it is limited to one child and this is still restricted to one platform and one bag limit.

Permits are only available to purchase online at www.bookwhen.com/hanningfield. If you are experiencing any difficulty using this site please call the team on 01268 712180, Monday to Sunday from 8am and 6pm.
In order to manage the site effectively, please note that there will be a limited number of permits available per day and these will be on a first come first serve basis. The rangers will ask to see your permit on your arrival so please be prepared to show them the original email confirmation and quote your booking reference.
