Catch of the week:

Ray Whaley capped off another great week with yet another £200 tagged fish and our best limit catches of the week with six limit catches in total, just by Ray!

Memorable moment of the week:

Fly anglers had a brilliant week on the meadow with anglers taking several limit catches from this area and at the weekend one angler took all his eight fish on dry flies, surely the most exciting tactic and technique!

Best area and flies:

Best banks have been the meadow and west of the sailing club with some anglers returning up to 20 fish in these two locations. All the fish were 2lb and over with lots of blues coming to the net! Fly anglers are having quite a struggle to get some of these blue fish to the net which are truly built for speed!

Best areas & baits / lures

South side near the Dam has again offered excellent sport, Hunter House has also recorded excellent catches for those making the walk to this summer hot spot and the new ‘any method’ bank west of the sailing club has been the best area of the week. Ledgered tactics are by far the most successful, however float fished worm and/or Mice-tails have offered good results when the wind is light with decent cloud cover. Those using a strong scented bait in the feeder have also been more successful with Magic Dust or garlic baits attracting fish

Fishing with Waterside Parks is the perfect way to enjoy a great sport, whether you like fly fishing, bank fishing, coarse fishing or wild brown trout fishing.
