Catch of the week:

Sammy Dean took advantage of a teacher training day off school to put his new fishing skills to the test. 6 year old Sammy, from Richmond, ledgered chartreuse PowerBait eggs with trout pellets in a feeder at Millshields and proudly netted a fin perfect rainbow of 3lb 3oz – our best fish of the week!

Best area and flies:

Shallow areas including Bay of Plenty and Cronkley Bay using bright lures on an immediate line with a slow retrieve.

Best areas & baits / lures

Shallow water is key to success so bank from Pow Hill to Hunter House and west of the sailing club continue to fish well with ledgered Powerbait eggs and Mice-tail continuing to work well!
