Catch of the week:

Mr. R Berry had a brilliant day Sunday netting eight fish for well over 20lb using Powerbait. Ray Whaley also had another limit catch earlier in the week from the north side of the reservoir along from the Tower

Best area and flies:

Lures on an intermediate line are a good starting point or wet flies / nymphs fished under a bung. Sheltered areas continue to offer the best sport such as the Bay of Plenty, Cronkley or Hunter House

Best areas & baits / lures

Ledgered garlic scented Powerbait eggs and trout pellets in a swim feeder have worked well with a strong scented bait helping lure in the fish. Varied areas continue to offer good catches with fish taken from most locations. However, the key to success during the winter months is using a strong scented bait and lots of ground bait either loose fed

Fishing with Waterside Parks is the perfect way to enjoy a great sport, whether you like fly fishing, bank fishing, coarse fishing or wild brown trout fishing.

With so many different locations to choose from, and styles of fishing, every experience will feel new and exciting.

The fishing we offer across our parks and reservoirs is aimed at all abilities. Our rangers are always happy to have a chat and give any tips or advice to help you have the best chance of catching one of the many thousands of fish stocked across our reservoirs. And now you can bring the family! Either get them involved or learn more of what they can do at Derwent while you enjoy your days fishing.
