We are pleased to say we have today announced we will be giving anglers, holding Blue Light cards, the opportunity to get a discount on fishing activity.
The 10% discount includes boat hire, fishing permits and tackle across the our waterside parks and reservoirs.
Discounts will apply in our tackle shops at the Waterside Parks at Derwent, Fontburn and Kielder, and will be extended to those at Scaling Dam and Grassholme when those sites reopen for fishing in Spring 2021.
Blue Light cards offer discount service for anyone working in the emergency services, NHS, social care sector and the armed forces community. Members of these groups not carrying a Blue Light card will be able to take advantage of the savings by presenting official ID cards from their employers at the sites.
The discount does not apply to the purchase of any vouchers or online bookings.
Don Coe, Northumbrian Water’s Waterside Parks Operations Manager, said: “For those who enjoy angling, there are few better ways to relax, so we want to help reduce some of the cost of that experience for Blue Light card holders and their colleagues by opening up these discounts.
“The angling season remains open at some of our sites throughout the year, so there is still plenty of time to enjoy the discounts and they will continue to apply across our sites into 2021 and beyond.”
