NEWS FLASH – Temporary changes to Teesdale angling sites

NEWSFLASH

**Temporary changes to Teesdale angling sites**

The safety of all those who use our Waterside Parks and reservoir sites is of the utmost importance, so we are making some temporary changes that anglers need to be aware of.

Due to the current low levels at Grassholme Reservoir, which have resulted in exposed and potentially hazardous soft ground, we are temporarily moving all fishing away from the site from Friday 23 July.

This is to ensure the safety of anglers and we ask that people respect this suspension of fishing at the site.

At this time, nearby Hury Reservoir will open up to any method angling until levels have risen sufficiently to allow the sport to resume safely at Grassholme.

Under normal circumstances, Grassholme would be topped up with water from Selset Reservoir. However, ongoing essential maintenance taking place at Selset mean levels have been lowered there to allow safe working, which means this is not currently possible.

Permits for Hury will only be available online from Bookwhen. However, bait, tackle and limited permits can still be purchased from the shop at Grassholme, which will be open between for the shorter hours of 8am to 11am daily.

Therefore, we would strongly advise anglers to book online in advance.

Hury will open for any method fishing on Saturday 24 July at 8.00am permits are now available to Book on line via our website https://bookwhen.com/watersideparksnorth

Please note if you have already purchased a online permit for Grassholme for use after 24 July it is automatically transferred to Hury.

We will update this page when we have timescales for the resumption of angling at Grassholme.
