Ahead of moving into the Government’s new restrictions from December 2, we wanted to update you on how those changes affect visitors to our Waterside Park and reservoir sites.
First, we want to assure you that our Waterside Parks remain open for you to enjoy within those guidelines, and that the visitor centre and gift shop at Derwent Waterside Park will reopen on Wednesday. Opening hours will be 9am to 4pm, seven days a week.
For anglers, this means that the tackle shop at Derwent will also be open for permits, bait, tackle and advice from our Ranger team.
Also of note for anglers:
🐟 Winter fishing times (subject to weather conditions) are 9am until 4pm.
🐟 Please note that, with a cold snap forecast and the onset of winter conditions, our fisheries are located in the higher areas of our region, so we will take precautions and implement measures in the interest of safety, where necessary.
🐟 If you intend to purchase your permit online the day prior to your visit, please check the forecast before you do as refunds will not be given should the site be closed on safety grounds.
🐟 If you do purchase a permit online and travel to access the sites from other areas and the conditions are unsafe you will be asked to leave without refund. Therefore, we would advise that, even if it is fine where you are traveling from, please check with the site before travelling and purchase your permits at the shop on the day.
🐟 If in doubt, please stay safe and call in advance.
🐟 When calling into our shops please remember to use the gel provided, a face covering must be worn and social distancing must be followed.
As always, we ask you to please respect our staff and abide by our signs, to ensure you have a safe visit and that you help to make our sites as enjoyable and safe a place as possible for everyone.
We look forward to your visit!
