Ensuring Scaling Dam is a safe and enjoyable fishing environment is incredibly important to us. However, due to Northumbrian Water’s COVID testing and vaccinations programme which helps keep the water flowing, some of our dedicated team are unable to stock the reservoir or be present on site. More importantly, our Rangers are not around to keep you safe therefore we are unable to open the site for trout fishing for the foreseeable future.
Scaling Dam will remain open for coarse and pike fishing with permits available online at www.bookwhen.com/watersideparksnorth. Our onsite shop will be closed, however toilet facilities at the western end of the reservoir will remain open for all visitors. Alternatively, Grassholme Reservoir in Teesdale will open for any method trout fishing and Hury reservoir will be open for fly and trout fishing.
